They let kids feed them?

These birds are super cool to look at, but super scary to feed.  Those beaks are hard!

Owning animals

Animals are fun to own. I have many of them, two dogs and a toad. They snuggle with you when your feeling bad, the kids get to play and have their own petting zoo at home, and they give us a sense of responsibility. This morning was like any other morning. Get the kids up for school, say good morning to my wife, and start getting ready for work. During this time one of my little dogs is running around my ankles Non-Stop.  Of course having things to do I don't think anything of it. My daughter has taken him out and he's been fed. As I sit down on the edge of my bed and slide my feet into my shoe I suddenly feel something. Like a nice warm wave coming over me. It starts at the toes and works its way up to the heel.  That's when I realize it's not the warmth of satisfaction or another successful day of getting out of bed. It's the warmth of dog pee all in my shoe! Good morning indeed.

My wife and I are having our first child together, a little girl.  By this point I get along well with my "step kids" and they like me more than I expected (I had no idea what to expect).  At family functions I was known as "Rick" instead of "Mom's Boyfriend", which was nice, and I referred to them as my own.  I never really used the term "step kids" because I didn't feel it was anyones business that they have a diffe...

Making Pickles

What's better on a rainy Saturday than 2 middle aged, balding men, making pickles in the kitchen.  All of the cucumbers used were grown right outside in the yard. The sunflowers were getting in the yard too.
